Hole #1 is a 369-yard par 4 starting the North Course with a scenic elevated tee shot to a generous landing area. To the far right of #1 is #9, a dogleg left 397-yard par 4 that plays uphill and long, providing a challenging finish to the North front nine. The North clubhouse and practice green provide a great view of the start and finish to the front nine.

Hole #7 is a very scenic 389-yard par 4 that incorporates a great view of Lake Galena as the backdrop to the green. This hole tends to play short from the elevated tee shot to the green sitting below the fairway. The green is tricky, sloping from back to front, so be sure you land your approach shot short of the hole.

Hole #8 is a 165-yard par 3 with 80 feet of elevation change from tee to green. The tee shot crosses a corner of Lake Galena, opening up a spectacular view of the lake and its abundant rock outcroppings. The large, two-tiered green is surrounded by a bunker, backed by two huge oak trees and flanked to the left by a 15-foot natural rock formation. The view from the green is as good as the view from the tee.

Hole #11 is a 533-yard par 5 with another extremely elevated tee shot. A crystal clear stream runs along this hole as the fairway cuts between two large hillsides. The green is nestled in a valley next to a red barn that was preserved during course construction and left as an integral part of the course.

The South Course

The South Course is cut through a heavily wooded valley. A stream comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes. Numerous oak and walnut trees help guide you, while natural rock outcroppings create dramatic views.

Hole #3 is a 147-yard par 3 in a secluded corner of the property. This hole is not long, but many good hole placements and a well-guarded green make hitting the green off the tee a must in order to score well here.

Hole #8 is a 361-yard tight par 4 with trees left and a creek meandering up the right side that cuts in front of the green. An iron or fairway wood to the left center of the fairway is the play off the tee. A tee shot to the right center will kick toward the creek. The second shot plays uphill over a deep green-side bunker.

Hole #11 is a very playable 512-yard par 5. A tee shot in play leaves a downhill second shot that is possible to get very close or on the green. The green is well guarded by two large bunkers and a pond to the right that wraps all around the back of the green. A birdie or eagle is possible here. The 11th green is visible from the fantastic view at the South clubhouse.

Hole #18 is a 406-yard par 4 with the tee set 90 feet above a landing area, which is guarded by lakes on both sides and a stream that crosses the fairway 265 yards from the tee. The second shot plays uphill to a well-bunkered elevated green. The South clubhouse is the backdrop to this hole.

Hole #3 is a short, tight par 4 with a stream running all the way up the left and a 30-foot rock wall along the right. The hole plays 290 yards through a quiet, secluded valley. The bold big hitter may take a crack at driving this green.

Hole #5 is a 500-yard par 5 where the tee shot must cross a pond to be safe. The second shot will be a lay-up for most players, but big hitters will get a shot at this green in two if they want to risk it. The green is set on the other side of a creek nestled between two groves of trees. Hole #5 wanders through a wide valley, overlooked by beautiful homes flanking the fairway.

Hole #9 is a 333-yard par 4 with a generous driving area, but has fairway bunkers that guide your tee shot to the right. A fairway wood or iron is the smart play off this tee, since the pond guarding the right side of the green is reachable. The undulated green is well guarded by a pond and waterfall. Hole #9 is a fun finish to this classic 9-hole layout.

Facilities
10,000 square feet of clubhouse with golf shop and men’s and women's locker rooms. Spike’s Bar & Grill features dramatic views of The General's rolling landscape. A great place to enjoy an outstanding meal.

Hole #1 is a 407-yard downhill par 4 where accuracy overshadows distance all the way to the green. This is an exciting starting hole that takes you down the hill from the clubhouse into the serene valley of the front nine.

Hole #3 is a 180-yard par 3 to a green guarded by water to the right and long. The wind swirls in this valley, so choose your club carefully and favor the left side of the green.

Hole #9 displays an awe-inspiring tee shot to begin this 410-yard par 4. The tee shot must carry a deep wildflower valley in order to reach the fairway, while the silo at The General clubhouse provides a good target point. The roughs on this hole are angled toward the center to help keep slightly errant tee shots in play.

Hole #10 is a challenging 396-yard par 4 start to the back nine. The hole plays uphill, where the tee shot crosses water and the right side is guarded by a deep wooded ravine. The green is nestled in the trees at the top of the hill and requires an accurate approach to score well.

Hole #13 is a long 442-yard dogleg left par 4. The fairway is wide and has a generous landing area. The green is long and narrow, requiring an accurate approach shot. Short on the approach is better than long on this green.

Hole #14 is a 357-yard par 4 where the tee is elevated 180 feet above the fairway landing area. The view from this tee is spectacular!

Hole #18 is a 532-yard par 5 that presents a challenging tee shot across another deep ravine, where the silo at the clubhouse provides a good target point. Once a tee shot is in play, the second shot should favor the right side of this hole. The fairway is two-tiered and split by a strip of short rough, which presents a unique challenge. The green is undulated and protected by a front bunker. Next stop: the relaxing 19th hole.
