Great Galena Balloon Race!
Our Galena resort offers an entire weekend of inspiring events that benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation! Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is proud to be the host sponsor for the 6th Annual Great Galena Balloon Race, a spectacular three-day event set to take place on our North Course Practice Range from June 15-17, 2007.
The excitement begins Friday night at 6:00 p.m. when Galena on the Fly & Company kick off the event with a hot air balloon ride. Rides are available for our Galena resort guests. Also, between 6:00 and 10:00 p.m., all are welcome to enjoy food and beverage concessions, dog agility demos by ‘That's My Dog,’ and live music from Outta Control. And for kids: face painting, bounce houses, balloons and more!
But it doesn’t end there. Our Galena resort guests can sample over 100 of the finest beers at AleFest between 6:30 and 9:00 on Friday night, all compliments of Family Beer and Liquor. Each admission is good for samples of craft beer, a tasting glass and guide, and live entertainment. At 7:45 p.m., the Rockford Industrial Helium Balloon Launch takes place. All are welcome to launch and track your own balloon. Then, at 8:45 p.m., the Night Glow Extravaganza begins, as the balloons launched light up the night sky.
Bright and early on Saturday, the ‘Crack of Dawn’ Balloon Race begins at 6:00 a.m., offering Galena resort guests a first chance to see the balloons launch at this year’s event. Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., an incredible Collectors Car Show lets you check out over 40 collector cars from Antique Town Rods of Galena, High Point Cruisers of Scales Mound, Mainstreet Cruisers of DBQ, and the Southwest Wisconsin Auto Club. Again, kids can partake in the pleasure of face painting, bounce houses and balloons, and food and beverage concessions will be available. Live music from the Wundos and balloon rides at 6:30 p.m. ensure an invigorating day.
Lastly, another ‘Crack of Dawn’ Balloon Race at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday promises Galena resort guests a final chance to see the balloons launch until next year. So make plans to stay at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, and join us for the charitable adventure that is the Great Galena Balloon Race!
